Thank you for visiting my website. I am the endorsed Republican and Conservative candidate for a four-year term on the Orchard Park Town Council.
I was chosen because of my extensive experiences with numerous community organizations, my technical perspective, and my ability to offer thorough, effective solutions to many complicated issues facing our town. With respect to smart growth zoning, traffic safety, drainage, and infrastructure management, I will make a positive difference.
I believe strongly in the importance of public involvement in decision-making, government transparency, and making reasonable, tax-conscious decisions.
I would sincerely appreciate your support at the ballot box in November, as well as your financial contributions to my campaign today. I will work for you to make sure Orchard Park remains a safe and friendly place to live, work, and play.
About Dwight Mateer
My professional and volunteer experience includes an extensive background in infrastructure management, developing budgets, overseeing capital projects, implementing smart growth & complete street concepts, creating walkable communities, negotiating contracts, solving drainage issues, and conducting public meetings.
I have a Professional Engineering License and two Civil Engineering degrees from the University at Buffalo. I have over thirty years of municipal engineering experience and decades of volunteer community involvement.
I currently serve the community as a member of the:
- Orchard Park Town Public Safety Committee (since 2007)
- Orchard Park Zoning Board of Appeals (since 2008)
Previous service includes:
- Orchard Park School Board for two elected terms (2014-2020)
- Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail (ECRT) Board of Directors (2008-2019)
- Orchard Park Town Trails Task Force
